    My favorite items

This heavy glass rolling pin belonged to my mother. I'm surprised it doesn't have cracks in it, as every time my brother and I saw her using it, which was often, we asked "what was it you bought in that?" She never hit us over the head with it although we always asked. During the war, when all...

    Help!

Looking through some dusty old bottles we dug 40 years ago, I found this. Now, can someone tell me how to clean and ink it safely so I can figure out what it says? I can read 'For Sale' at the bottom, and sort of figured out Neal's (something) in the larger print in the center. Looks like a rust...

    What is this?

Dug this years ago and have no idea what it is. Appears to have had a glass stopper in it, which has been broken off. Part of it still in the neck of the bottle. Approx. 4 and a quarter inches long.

    Ball Jar. Mold patch?

Found this roughened area beside the seam(at the base) on the Ball half gallon in my previous post of today. Approx. 3/8 by 1 & 5/8 inches. Slight angle on upper end.

    Zinc jar lids

Digging through my old bottles came up with assorted Zinc caps, with glass intact in most. Zinc caps damaged. Just curiosities I imagine, but thought I'd add a pic. The one with the rubber seal still attached says "Genuine Zinc Cap for Ball Mason Jars" 1 Boyd's Genuine Porcelain Lined Cap...

    Ball fruit jars

Finally got the boxes out of the attic. Have 3 half gallons, 4 quarts, 1 pint, all in this color. All probably pretty modern, but one half gallon looks strange. Smooth on the outside, but looks like ripples or something in the glass. Will try to post a pic.

    Too many bottles

About 40 years ago I found an old dump site on our property. My sister and I started digging. I think she ended up with about 700 bottles, and I had 400 or 500 hundred. We're both wondering what to do with them now? I've sold a few. I think most of them are medicine bottles, but are all boxed...
