    I found a BURKE'S DAIRY NAUGATUCK CONN bottle a few months ago. It is a nice half pint size with the embossing in the slug plate. Maybe we could dig together some time.

    Thanks, Red. I am a little confused though. I thought that an applied lip was an actual separate piece of glass added to the neck and a "tooled lip" involved a tool to shape the glass on the lip of the bottle. I see the difference on an applied lip 1870's bottle that I have versus the early...

    Does anyone anything about this bottle?It looks like it has an applied lip... also has a whittled feel on the back surface, but I not as whittled as bottles that I know are whittled. There is no pontil but the mold seem goes straight across the entire bottom of the bottle.Any ideas of the age...

    I am trying to figure out the full history of the A.B. & E. Co from Amarillo, TEX. I have heard they were the original Dr. Pepper manufacturers and have heard that they were counterfeiters of Dr. Pepper.Anyone know the whole story?

    rock tumbler

    thanks, I'm thinking of getting a rotating rock tumbler.I read some on another thread about packing the bottle in with peanuts. I might custom build a PVC pipe that fits on the tumbler and use that for that bottles.
