I found a BURKE'S DAIRY NAUGATUCK CONN bottle a few months ago.
It is a nice half pint size with the embossing in the slug plate.
Maybe we could dig together some time.
Re: Thankgiving Eve dig - squat soda !
Here's the Macy's flask. I guess this is not too rare, but fitting for the holiday. The bottle ghosts want their bottles to be found!!
Went out digging yesterday. Found a nice squat soda!R. B. WEBSTERNEW YORKR.B.W. Fate would have it that I also uncovered a R. H. Macy & Co flask....just in time for the Macy's Day Parade!R. H. MACY & CONEW YORK
Thanks, Is there a list of all the different LYON's bottles that exist? I have the LYON'S POWDER and was excited to find another pontil from the same maker.
Thanks, Red. I am a little confused though. I thought that an applied lip was an actual separate piece of glass added to the neck and a "tooled lip" involved a tool to shape the glass on the lip of the bottle. I see the difference on an applied lip 1870's bottle that I have versus the early...
Bottle is embossed:PROVINCIAL BOTTLING COMPANYNO. 520 WEST 43RD STNEW YORKREGISTERED There is no pontil scare, it is a smooth base. Also, the lip is tooled, not applied.
Dug a squat of some kind.Anyone know anything about this bottle? It's too bad the embossing is not a person's name or something more exotic, but at least the shape is nice.
Does anyone anything about this bottle? It looks like it has an applied lip... also has a whittled feel on the back surface, but I not as whittled as bottles that I know are whittled. There is no pontil but the mold seem goes straight across the entire bottom of the bottle.Any ideas of the age...
Thought this print ad should be accessible to all so I scanned it for all to see. Interesting to read about the Kickapoo Cough Cure. This was salvaged from an 1890's newspaper. Hope you enjoy.
I am trying to figure out the full history of the A.B. & E. Co from Amarillo, TEX. I have heard they were the original Dr. Pepper manufacturers and have heard that they were counterfeiters of Dr. Pepper.Anyone know the whole story?
thanks, I'm thinking of getting a rotating rock tumbler.I read some on another thread about packing the bottle in with peanuts. I might custom build a PVC pipe that fits on the tumbler and use that for that bottles.
