Found an old bottle with some type of metal cap clamped and rusted on

I found an old bottle with some type of metal cap clamped and rusted on. Will anything help in getting that off without prying? the bottle is very thin. Help

What do you do when there's broken glass everywhere?

I pulled about 50 bottles out of a creek bed burried in the bank, and I think there are many more but how do I dig safely. Just to get to the bottles I collected, I had to walk over more broken glass than I have ever seen on, or in the ground. With each step I was worried that a piece or 5 would...

Help with old stove pol. bottle

I have a bottle with raised lettering on the surface. It reads "J. S. Prescott & Company Liquid Stove Polish New York" the bottle requires a cork or stopper. Does anyone know anything about. Value, age, date of manufacture, anything would be helpful. It might read "J.C. Prescott" instead of...

How do I get this tough film off the glass?

On a recent trip down into a creek, I came up with about 50 bottles in various shapes, between 1 1/2 - 10 inches tall. They all have one thing in common, a hard film, possibly mineral deposits, brown in color. I took a shard with the film on it, and it took steel wool to get this stuff off. Is...
