I found this one a while ago, I have not seen another one so I think they are hard to get.
Mine came from lower new south wales so could be a Sydney bottle, but i don't know for sure.
What Aerated Waters would you swap for this bottle? PM me.
Thank Chris
Hi Guys,
Have some very sad news, a very well know bottle collector in Melbourne Australia has had the best bottles in his collection stolen. Thieves broke into his house while he and his wife were asleep.
I am seeking the help of Aussie collectors. If you are offered or see any bottles...
Hi all,
I found an interesting bottle that I have not seen before, it is a Minerva Bitters, it has this embossed on three sides of the bottle, a hand tooled lip and a small kick up in the base (no pontil scar). I would say it dates around the 1880/90's period but this is just a guess.
Can...
Aerated,
I have full history of Melbourne Glass Bottle Co which became Australian Glass Manufacturing Co (AGM), which opened a plant in New Zealand in 1922, these bottles are usually marked 'N.Z. A.G.M' on the base.
Melbourne Glass Bottle Works
Thanks
Chris
Hi Aerated,
This is an Australian fruit jar, it would have had an immerser lid similar to the one I have pictured.
They are a fairly sought after jar both here in Australia and in the USA.
I believe it was made Melbourne Glass Bottle Works and they date late 1890's to around 1915.
That sound like a good place to find bottles, you may have some success snorkling.
I have found a few snorkling over the years however I prefer to probe in these sort of places.
We have a lake here that had pond boats on it and 1000's of bottles have been recovered from this one.
Thanks
Chris
Hey sauceman,
That is one rare torp there, not many around with the trade mark side on like that.
The pot lid is one of the hardest to find also pity it is broken [:@]
Thanks
Chris
You would need to dissolve some Epoxy Resin in Acetone and soak the cracked area in this mixture, this will get the Epoxy Resign into the crack and the acetone should evaporate when left to dry out.

I am very impressed with the way Minoque finds bottles and it is a great picture, this would have to be the easiest way I have seen to date.
Minoque do you find many this way or is it a bit of a rarity?
IRISH has researched a new spot where a few Cobalt Blue Australian Codds have been found...
Hi Norm,
Nope, you have to be an Archaeologist, if you find anything interesting under the ground you are meant to stop digging and contact 'Heritage Victoria' (in Victoria) and they will do an Archaeological Survey to ascertain whether they will hold an Archaeological Dig.
We have been...
Kim,
I would love to post pictures of digs here in oz, however because digging for bottles is illegal in most Australian states due to our Heratage laws I would never dig any up [:D]

To get good pictures of bottle embossing you need to back light the bottle, this can be done using a professional back light available from most photo shops (expensive) or you can use natural light.
I have found overcast days are best and place the bottle in front of a well lite window, have...
