I just read a reference to it from a book about 1857. So I guess it goes back that far.

I would love to know what kind of top it had. It looks like it could have had a glass stopper that matched the style of the bottle; We didn't find it if there was one. But, then again, I really wouldn't be surprised if it had just a cork!

I'm not real concerned about the value. I'm sure it isn't much, but it has to be at least mid 1860s. All the stuff we found from the bottom of that privy was from mid to very early 1860s. Now, that is not to say that they weren't made exactly the same well after that without much variation. That...

Hey everybody, We found this bottle a couple of months ago and I have been intrigued by it since. It is clear and in pretty good shape. It says S.HALLENBERGER'S / FEVER & AGUE / ANTIDOTE. We found it in an early 1860s privy. Does anyone have any information about this bottle?

Here is a picture of it all cleaned up. You can notice that it has some beads around the neck. I wonder if they are vent hole marks or just part of the design?

Yeah we like to tell our story when we can. We found this 10-sided blob and were pretty excited. We don't know much about Indiana bottles, so we didn't know what we had. I think this one might go upwards of $50. We just don't see many paneled blobs here in Memphis and something like that with...

Awesome! Thanks surfacone. That is exactly what I was looking for. It's funny that you put that picture up, because every time I look up Memphis minijugs on ebay, I always get some type of image like that. LOL.
