This book does cover bottles, but also covers many other topics of treasure hunting. I bought a copy and found some very useful information. I ordered my copy off ebay with Buy it Now. I tried Amazon.com, but it was back ordered for 3 months and gave up.

I got that book a few years ago. It's good. It has lots of tips on finding stuff, not just bottles. I'd like to try the one where you throw a magnet attached to a rope in a lake or other body of water. It supposedly works, but wouldn't pick up anything silver of course.

I tried that and all I ended up with is a lost magnet. It got hung up on something (Or got stuck on some HUGE piece of metal)
I need to go back-with the drought we are having all the lakes are down, I could probably find my magnet and maybe some bottles and fishing tackle and....a little bit of everything.

I went to a place called Northern Tools (they also have a website) and found a magnet with the eye bolt for a rope. It was supposed to pick up around 150 to 200 lbs.

I'd like to try it. There's a reservoir here where there used to be a town. I'd love to try the magnet there. When there is a big drought, like we had last summer, you find some good stuff.

I know some co-workers were at the lake last week and found some bottles. I need to get out too and see what I can find. Good luck with the magnet. I want to go buy another one and try it again, maybe I'll have better luck this time!
