jar lids?

found several lids with some bottles i dug up most are white to a milky blue in color and one has a maltese cross in it ,one lid is threaded glass with the word simplex on it ,another is clear glass and says columbia patented dec 29th 1898 are they worth keeping?

Hi, While the Columbia & Simplex lids aren't worth big bucks, they sure do come in handy for someone who needs them to complete a jar. Its always nice to have traders if you don't need these - or you can sell them for a buck or two each. The white lids you have are probably liners to zinc lids, where the metal has rotted away leaving just the milk glass liners. You might keep the one with the hero cross & any other really unusual ones. They can always be put inside a zinc lid without a liner and you'll have something close to the original. The plain & common liners you can toss since you can find regular zinc lids with liners for 50cents to a buck apiece. Happy collecting - Tammy
