This might have been mentioned before, but has anyone seen the show Diggers? It's much better than American Diggers, these two metal detectors visit historic spots across the US. In Season 1 Episode 4 they found some bottles including a sweet squat blob from Helena, Mt. under an old bar. Completely in-situ and not planted, now that's a good show!
