C. Van Herwarde @ Son Passaic,Nj. 1/2 pint

Hey all. pick this little 1/2 pint up today. C. Van Herwarde@ Son 90 Market St. Passaic, NJ. On the back side it says Store Bottle. I saw a quart with this name and town but it had 90 Second St. instead of Market. Any one have any infoThanks Bill

The 2nd street quarts are earlier, he moved to Market St. after bringing his son into the company. I'm assuming you have a sour cream or cottage cheese with the wide mouth? Is this your bottle?

Yes that's it Jim . I thought it may be a cottage cheese with that wide mouth. I thought it was odd that both addresses started with the same number. 90 cool though. Pretty common bottle is it. Its a neat little heavy embossed bottle . Know any more about it.Thank JimBill

Not really common but there are only a handful of guys collecting the area so they don't bring much money when sold. Cornelius Van Herwarde started the business in 1894 and they were still in business as late as the 1950-60's...
