This area has good potential I would date it from the early 1900's to around the 1940's ...there where a lot more bottles found but I did not want to carry them up the ravine, there are a lot more ground to cover hopefully I can coordinate it with my friend again and check out the area soon...aloha and thanks for looking...

Howzit Joe, the area is all agriculture and ranch land, there are reservoirs, water pipes that run all over the mountain and ravines that still have water running through them for the farmers and ranches to use...

Howzit Earl,
Did you dig into the layer or scratch around? Looks to be a large area and I would think you got some good potential.
The weather was incredibly beautiful today.

Hi Earl. The first thing that struck me was the rich soil in the first picture.I bet you can grow anything in that volcanic medium! The AB on the base is probably American Bottle Company from here: http://www.myinsulators.com/glass-factories/bottlemarks.html
Nice Soda Works bottle.Hopefully you can find another whole one of the other one.Like Joe said it looks like a great place to explore.Make sure you take us along the next time you go there.I love all the pic.s you guys show us of Hawaii. Thanks and good luck. -Tim

Hey Earl,
Thanks for letting us go out with you for a while. Wish I was there! Glad you found some. I wonder if you could probe or dig for glass as well?

Howzit Tony,
the place reminds me of the ravine that you took me to when I was on the Big Island... I scratched around and found some layer of iron under all the leaves, there are pockets here and there not really deep mostly surface, still got a lot of area to check out, on the top flatter area on the other side of the house was a hole in the ground, not sure how it got there or what it is, I was all burn barrens already going up and down the ravines to really check it out more LOL...another time, pretty cool that my friend has the keys to get in the gate...weather was nice until the vog came...

Hi Tim,
Thanks for the nice comments and information, the area we was at has been always used for agriculture the #1 crop was sugar, since the sugar shut down in 90's the land is subleased by independent farmers and cattle ranchers now...
