Well I came across a very interesting item I had to pick up.

Looks to be a company ledger from the beginning of the Coca-Cola bottling era. There is a lot of historical references and very cool images. Its a total of 28 pages long.

Has anyone seen one of these before? Any additional info. on history or rarity would be much appreciated.

If you have no idea at least enjoy the pics [;)]

Super Find! Congratulations.

Assumming the one illustration is of a 1904 or 1905 bottle, that's one of the earliest crown caps I am aware of, not to mention the bottlers list which is valuable information to help confirm dates for those particular locations.

Thanks for sharing

P.S. ~

When I said "earliest crown caps," I meant for Coca Cola in particular and not crown caps in general that were invented by William Painter in 1892

Thanks Bob.

Your right. The cap does match the exact ones from a thread you posted earlier in the month. I find this piece particularly fascinating.

The only other info I have on it was it came from some of the first traveling salesmen for the company when they began the initial phases in pushing other establishments to sell their product.

It also has a fair amount of hand written notes from who I believe to be the salesmen that carried it.

Very good Bob.. that cap is spot on . . I always had issues finding old clear advertisement pics of that exact era cap.

I know they used some lightening stoppers on early bottles too . Does anyone know what the first straight side coke bottle looked like? I'm guessing it had this style cap. This ledger is not too far off from some of the first ss Cokes produced.

A friend has a 1909. He copied the pages listing bottler towns.

Would you mind posting pics of all the pages with bottler listings? I'm trying to put together a chronology for certain towns.
