There are several reasons why the label and bottle do not match. It is possible that others may think of some.
One is that Mr. Levin bottled a brand which was exclusive to Feldhus. I have a LI flask with a Binningers label advertizing both Binningers and the LI store that sold it.
Another is that the bottle was "recycled" or trash picked and then resold to Mr. Levin. I have seen a number of bottles over the years with labels that do not match the embossing, pharmacys in particular. I had at one time a local with embossing, and two labels, from a total of 3 different shops. I have a few flasks which are embossed with some variation of "return for deposit" on them. Picking bottles from the rubbish was a very profitable enterprise years ago.
Another is similar to the above. Mr. Feldhus goes out of business, and sells his bottles to a "recycler" as I call them, who then sold them (the bottles) to Mr. Levin. This seems to have been quite common in that day, as I have quite a few flasks with labels for "Boyer's Bengal Bluing" a laundry bluing out of Philly, but with NYC or Brooklyn addresses embossed on them.
