This is what runs through my head when I see "new bottles" posted

Why would anybody dig a 1970s dump? come on now. Even if you are not a bottle digger, you know,or should know 1970 is not a very good year for
"Old bottles" [8|]

Before people post their 1950s 60s 70s 80s dumps on here they should look on the web for "old bottles" Google it, and see what comes up. It is not going to be 1970s bottles. There might be a few newer ones in the mix but thats it.

But if digging new bottles is your thing. Then more power to ya. [;)]
Just my 5 cents

I agree with you Rick. Especially here in Maine, where there are lots of places to find 1890s era dumps-they are just about everywhere. If you want even older stuff, just go under buildings or into the privies. It's that easy in New England. I've dug here for over 30 years or so and have never spent any time in a dump older than 1920.

there likely isn't going to be alot good in it , i found a large dump from similar time period last fall and ddin't find much good . found dozens of those NDNR fresca bottles as well . my guess is there isn't going to be alot of value there unless it has an older section

i did not dig any of these, they were just lying on the ground they were easy pickin, i plan on holding on to them for at least 35 or 40 years then i might sell them. i live right on the coast and most of the stuff from the 1800's was dumped overboard so its hard to find. i looked the stuff i posted up on ebay most of them go for 5 to 25 dollars, but i don't hunt bottles for money i do it for a fun hobby, when im an old man thats when i plan on selling them,
