8 Point star Dose cup?

Found this today and I am not able to find any info on it. That may be because i don't know what it is in the first place.. Any info?

Its broken off but it looks like a cup or a drinking glass based on the width.

WoW, that could have been almost anything.

In this picture you can see "points"(Yellow) where something was attached. Now i don't know if that was how it was formed or molded or something else. The red lines are points where it has spawled out the glass from these points. As if something broke off it. A star is pretty defined, I would think someone would know about this and if it were a mark put on this piece or just some decoration.
