I found this today while out picking in my dumpy area. Thing is, this area has stuff from 1890's-1930's in it and I've never found anything this color made of this material before. It also has some sort of language printed on it...anyone seen anything like this before?

the other side says

Clock ist morb

either way the o looks like this:

yeah I know it's called like an umlaut or something but Idk the shortcut keys.

I think the language might be gaelic, Welsh or cornish or german or something?

I found a similar mug in a privy like 8 years ago & posted a pic of it in here then. There is a name for the green color, Jadite or something like. Mine had German writing on it also. LEON.
Leon, would you write what is embossed please?

And, should I ever find any beer cans that interest you, is that mug something you might consider trading?

Is the mug as intact as it appears in the photos?

Partial embossing of one side appears to be "Ein lustig spiel freut jung ...." translating roughly to "A fun game makes happy young ...." according to Google--I think it is more like "A fun game keeps one young..."

The other side appear to have words "Trunk" and "Wald" which I believe is part of a phrase referring to drinking in the forest?

Anyway, that mug appeals to the German potion of my heritage and fond appreciation of both forests and beer!

Those steins were very popular and made in a range of opaque colors by Westmoreland Glass Company, also "Greentown" glass company, and others, several different designs were made. Some have motifs that look sorta "German" or "Greek" or 'Roman" or "European". They are American made and mimic the "look" of some old German steins and mugs. Most date between 1905 and into the 1930s and some are newer. Here is a google search.. Many show up on ebay also.

lol when I saw that David had replied I figured I was going to get an answer and I wasn't disappointed. Yeah I did a little poking around myself with similar results; some are older and some aren't....hmmm... I did notice a lot of the ones on ebay don't have the writing though.

Thanks guys!
