I'm getting sick of the winter here in wisconsin so I thought I'd try and figure out when this bottle was from.
Its an oval shape bottleand new prob. 1970's. on the cap it says sugar free a&w root beer
use of this product ma be hazerdous toyour health. this product contains saccharin
which has been determined to cause cancer in lab animals.
I now this bottle isnt worth muchbut was curious about the year it was made

Is this what your bottle looks like? If so it is from the 1970s that is when they started getting into the no return bottles. Not much value in this one id give it $3 at most. I found this one yesterday on side of the road at a place I stopped to look at trying to see if the well was dry and what might be in it.

The No Deposit No Return bottles are starting to go up in value. (Although slowly) The ones that seem to bring in more $$ are the Root Beer brands, diet drinks and lesser known brands. (Double Cola, RC, etc.) The Pepsi & Coke are fairly common, depending on size. I had found a 26 ounce NDNR Coca Cola from 1965 and someone paid me $50 for it!
The Painted (ACL) bring in a good bit more of cash than the embossed. Bring them home when you find them! Heck-I would be interested in buying some.

Yes, they are becoming very collectible and some are very tough to find. That is the first time ive seen the crush and frostie. I bet that frostie might bring some good money. As a rule it seems root beers bring good money on average compared to other flavors.

It seems that these types are becoming more valuable each year. After all, they were for the most part dsicarded. Here is one I recently found. It's a Sprite 10oz, embossed with dozens of 'dimples', curved (hour glass) in shape & BRIGHT green color. The only one I have seen like it. I Don't care too much what it's worth, I just like it. And that makes it valuable in my book! I agree that you should keep 'em when you find 'em...
