Hi ,took some common flasks and turned them ACA (atificial colored amethyst) can not tell difference from SCA ones .If you do this use common bottles ,rare bottles should be left as is according too experts .I used a 15 watt germicidal bulb ,took 5 months ,i would recommend higher watt bulb ,would get it done much quicker.Gave most of them away ,people who don't collect bottles even like them .Got another batch in now .These are first ones before

Here they are medium rare .Put foil in box works better than paper.

I think they came out great, that's a reasonable amount of color for them.. not over-cooked.. thanks for sharing, Rick, this is cool!

I've always been under the impression that the germicidal lamps will not turn bottles any darker than exposure to natural sunlight, although much faster. Doesn't it take a much more intense source, possibly even a different wavelength, to achieve that royal purple?

Thanks Charlie . Medbotls i think you are right ,here is one i bought $2.00 darkened by diff wavelength i think (radiated?) .Too dark in my opinion

HEY RICK, VERY NICE I DONT THINK YOU DESTROYED THE VALUE OF THOSE BOTTLES BY USING THE LAMP VERY NICE , AS FAR AS THE DARK PURPLE NUKED BOTTLES I DONT CARE FOR THEM
