A friend of mine has this Barq's bottle and wanted some info on it. I know there is a Barq's expert or two on this site. So-tell me what it is. To me it looks like a 'normal' Barq's, except for the neck marking. Not sure what the Biloxi logo was for.
i don't know much about barqs in general but it looks like down by the 12 oz marking it's also marked 355 ml. if thats the case i would say the bottle isn't very old. maybe a commemorative bottle honoring Biloxi.
Boomtown Casino opened about 1993 and closed exactly 28 Sept 2005 when Hurricane Katrina tore her down. In 1999 Biloxi celebrated her 300th year. This bottle was made in commemoration of the town's 300th anniversary I believe, but I could be wrong.
Hi this is actually neither, this is one of three Barq's commoratives. This one doesn't really commemorate anything other than it came from the boomtown casino. You had to buy a particular nasty dinner to get it, I ate it but only because I wanted the bottle, it was some roast beef sandwhich with gravy on it. they wouldn't sell you an extra either, if you wanted another Barq's to drink, you got a regular bottle. I've been by there, moderate damage I guess, they will be moving across the street now. The other two Barq's commeratives are the 100th anniv bottle and the Biloxi Tricentennial. All three aren't worth alot even though at the time the tricentennials were going pretty high because they never made it into the stores, people were going by the plant and buying them by the cases. Now that they've all resurfaced the commeratives are worth maybe $5.
