I popped by one of my ACL sources and I saw this Mission Charge Up green bottle from WI. It's minty, especially for a 1949 bottle. Even the bottom looks like it sat on wood its whole life. I like the pre-'60 bottles, though not necessarily a fan of Mission, plain-Jane ACLs.
This guy wanted $15 and right away I said to myself, that's too much. Then I thought how I never saw a green Mission bottle, its so clean and nice it must be worth a bit more. I knew if I left, it'd be calling to me, so I bought it.
Then, I check at Gono.com and and the Collecting ACL book, and they list it at less than $5.
I searched here and there's no mention of this particular bottle. I have no regret, but aren't we missing the boat with this apparently rare one?

I like it, first ive seen...I think $15.00 is fair. Some of the sites and books have prices from 10 years ago. You may have a really good one....

Here's one like yours that sold recently, you don't see many green ones, maybe 200-1 on Ebay...

Here's a Mission Charge ER, something I'd never seen until now, sold for even less. I thinkthe buyer got a good deal...

The crack in the neck on that one might have put off potential buyers.

Mission Charg-er, trademarked in 1937, is an earlier name for what would become Mission Charge Up. Both bottles carry the first version of the Mission front label which on the clear bottles is black with a white center circle which seems to have been replaced by 1945 by the larger oval in rectangle front label shown on the green quart bottle posted, which leaves me scratching my head about the 1948 date, but it appears on the Charg Er and Charge up bottles they didn't change it.

From personal experience, trying to get one of these without acl damage is on the tough side, well the Charg Ers anyway. These early Missions seem to have weaker acls, but just as with anything an item can be rare, but rarity is only half of a price. Desirability is the second part, and Mission seems to be relatively neglected on the collectable front. I collect Missions, but I'm not that hardcore about the brand, acquiring most of my pieces through my local collection.

Fifteen bucks for one in my opinion isn't too bad, the one shown on ebay would be that much after shipping and handling.
