Here is one I got awhile back that I really enjoy. It is the size of an average mustard but is embossed POLISH on one side and OIL on the other. It is not pontilled but was dug in a 1860 era privy..I have talked to some other diggers and these seem to show up in the Cincinnati area and even come pontilled. This one was dug across the river in Newport,Ky.. While fondling it recently I noticed the lip treatment and it really caught my attention.Initially, I thought it was outwardly rolled but it appears to be a laid on ring that was rolled both inwardly and outwardly.I cannot remember seeing this treatment before. From the inside it looks like every other inward rolled lip I have seen. You can see that dirt is still trapped where it is rolled on both sides. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks for looking
