Hey Bubbas Dad - that's a good way to describe the embossing. LOL, it reads:

THIS BOTTLE IS OUR PROPERTY ANY
CHARGE MADE THEREFOR SIMPLY
COVERS ITS USE WHILE CONTAINING

BE RETURNED WHEN EMPTY
BLACKWOOD'S LIMITED

Then it has 'Blackwoods Winnipeg' around the base. I couldn't believe it when I first saw it, never seen one of these before although Im sure they're common out west.

Found a Blackwoods Winnpeg bottle here in Ottawa, very old looking.

Wording on side:

ANY ONE FILLING BUYING
SELLING OR DESTROYING
THIS BOTTLE WILL BE
PROSECUTED

Pretty serious business back in the day!

Found over 50 bottles so far. Liquor, Soda, Milk, medicine, ketchup, (Heinz and Aylmer)
