Good afternoon,

I recently found a "J. Edward Hennessy Salem, Mass" 8-oz bottle with the flying witch on a recent solo bottle hunting trip in Massachusetts. It has unusually thick glass with heavy embossing. I believe it has an early crown top to it with a slightly crude neck when it was molded. The bottle is in overall great condition. I am not sure how rare it is or what it would go for if I wanted to sell it. I've attached an image below. Please leave comments.

That's a pretty awesome bottle, and I only see a few other discussions about this bottle out there (here's one from this site in 2005: https://www.antique-bottles.net/threads/embossed-soda-bottle-salem-witch.16211/). Worthpoint has a few pages on these guys, but I don't have a subscription to tell you what they went for. This is one I'd love to have in my collection!

Looks like this bottle is from sometime after 1908, which is when J. Edward Hennessey bought the Witch City Bottling Works Co. (from https://salempl.org/wiki/index.php?title=Witch_City_Bottling_Works), but I can't find much else about the company.

Nice early tooled crown, likely 1900-1910, definitely an attractive old piece with amazing pictorial embossing, no idea on value but certainly something many people would want in their collections. Great recovery! :D
