Slug plates were used up to the early 40's especially on milk bottles. I don't think the used lightning stoppers with crown tops.

Many different stoppers were used with crown top bottles including the lightning stopper. This is the Charles de Quillfeldt lighting stopper on a semi abm bottle.

"Registered" embossed around the shoulders usually indicates pre-1910...
Shows up on the BIM crowntops from here.
One company here that used "Registered" and slug plates and BIM crowns wasn't established until 1907.

Hey Mike, Seems like what ever a manufacturer was use to is what they stayed with. Hutches were in use until 1924 around here and lightning stoppers until the teens.
