I found this in a box of jars I bought ( I actually do canning so I buy lots of boxes of jars from Craigslist), I've looked it up on the internet and cant find anything. I know it is 'modern' because the rim doesnt appear to be ground

If you're interested in a little more information, here's what I found in the Standard Reference by the late Dick Roller: Closure: Top seal, glass lid and metal screw band. (Red Book doesn't mention the closure, and the Standard Reference doesn't say if the glass lid is marked). Made during WWII only by an unknown Indiana glass company for W. Braun & Co., Chicago, IL bottle and cap jobbers. Searching eBay in completed listings I found a couple, but neither listing had the glass lid closure. Looks like a keeper to me, -Tammy

That's kind of what I am thinking. I found a completed listing on eBay too, actually emailed the person and asked if they'd be interested in selling the jar, I dont expect much out of that one but figured it was worth a try. But thanks for the information :)

Sorry but I couldn't read all the embossing. The top word ? "/ not readable ". Bottom markings? I never saw one. I think it is a keeper!~! RED Matthews
