I don't usually buy 5 gallon glass jugs but this one was too cool to pass up. It is embossed Arctic Fruit Ales on the front with icicles all around the top and bottom. The back has a spot for a label but it is an unusual shape and near the top it is embossed with the three cities Detroit - Chicago - Cleveland. The bottom has an I in a diamond and 1924 which I'm thinking is the date.
I have searched online but putting "Arctic Fruit Ales" in quotes turned up just four results. I saw a picture of another Arctic jug but the embossing was much more plain and there was no additional info anywhere. Hopefully someone here can answer my questions.
What exactly are fruit ales? Would this be considered a soda item?
Also I am wondering what kind of dispenser this jug would be used with in a soda fountain.
Any info on Arctic Fruit Ales would be interesting to see. If they were operating in 3 cities there should be some info or maybe some other bottles out there....
