The Galleria VII auction of the Roger Long collection part II is now available for viewing at: www.bottlemagazine.com. Don't forget to subscribe while at the site as well.

Hi...

When does bidding open for this auction? I thought it was early October but so far it still seems to be closed except for viewing?

Does anyone know of another absentee internet auction going on or coming soon? I got screwed on Ebay, and I'm disinclined to go back...

Hi Bearswede !
I know of no ongoing auction at this time. Glassworks Auction just closed recently.... http://www.absenteeauctions.com/glassworks/cgi-bin/catalog.cgi ( online bidding )
There are several online auctions , such as the above. And also , American Bottle Auctions ( formerly Pacific Glass Auctions ) http://www.pacglass.com/ ( online bidding )
And Also Heckler's ( view Norman's catalog online ...and bid by fax or email ) . http://www.hecklerauction.com/default.htm

You can only bid in the Bottles and more ( B.A.M. ) auctions if you are a subscriber to there magazine. So , if you are not a subscriber .... I'd say that is why you could only view the Roger Long Auction catalog and couldn't place a bid on a item.

You can check these above links from time to time to check for a ongoing auction or get on there mailing lists and they will either inform you of an upcoming auction by email or postal mail.
Hope this info helps and sorry about your bad experience on ebay , Brian

Thanks for the info, Brian... I got an email from Rod at BAM, saying the auction was open but he didn't mention having to purchase the catalog ( which is clearly part of their registration process )...

I've had fun with glasswork's auctions... Won bottles in the last three... Got my Townsend's variant II there... Looking forward to Heckler's, altho it seems a bit rich for my blood...
