Back to the beach

Went back down to the riverfront a couple weeks back...beach has silted up from the warm weather and the tide didn't go out very far, so prospects for finding bottles weren't too good...

Tide barely made it out to the edge of the first sunken boat this time, back in the spring this sucker was high and dry at low tide.

When faced with cheesy tides like this, I usually just scout the higher silt free areas of the beach real well for small stuff, buttons and indian head pennies can often be found...looks like a coin!

Yup, 1901 V nickel, not a bad start...

It's a shame a metal detector is useless here. This is why - brass & copper nail/screw/doodad wasteland...I pick up the bigger bits, usually get a couple pounds of scrap...

Ooh, found a bottle! Shame it wasn't worth taking, just an ABM teens whiskey turd...

For some reason marbles are a very, very rare find on this beach - but found one today!
