I just purchased a bottle at a garage sale and it has no marks on it except for a man on the bottom. It is a blob top and has a coating of something on the inside, not really sure what that is. Just looking for any information at all about this bottle

That would be a Pluto water bottle. "America's Laxative". I never knew they came in blob tops, so that might be unusual. The man on the bottom is the devil. I think these bottles have been discussed on this site before, but I've never heard of a blob version.

Oh wow, very cool. How old or valuable do you think it would be? I picked it up for a dollar. This is my first blob top bottle so this is pretty exciting for me.

Hey Bhaze,
Sorry to report that the Pluto waters are pretty common even with a blob top. When I find them, I try to give them away. The good news is that it is old (turn of the century) - but its just not that rare. The reason for the stain is because your bottle came out of the water. In fact, I am almost positive that it was sitting upright when it was found and that it was sealed shut. The air pocket inside did not allow the minerals to stain it where the air was, hence clear area where the air pocket was and the white area is where it was submerged.

Oh ok I see, well its still a really cool piece in my opinion and i don't think I'm getting rid of it any time soon. Is is possible to clean it or is it permanently stained?

Bhaze,
I can only give you my own opinion, and I'm sorry if this is sounds crazy, but I wouldn't clean it myself. I think that the mineral stain on the inside is cool and adds to the asthetic appeal of the bottle. Plus, I could tell things about the specific history of your example just from the stain (like where it was found, how it was positioned, that it was corked, etc . . .). You couldn't tell THAT if it was not stained. So. I'd leave it just like that. Call me nuts. If you want to see what it looks like without the stain, just fill it with water. The stain will magically disappear. When it dries, however, the stain will return. If you want to clean it more and try to remove the stain, then I have failed to convince you that the specific history of your bottle is way cooler than a polished up bland piece of glass. In which case, check under CLEANING AND REPAIRING for the Chuckles cleaning method.
