Thanks for posting. I'm excited to go out and try this. Maybe a metal detector to look for junk metal once a spot like this is found will help pinpoint any dumping.

Great info. I need to get back out in the woods again, I miss it. I have a dump I need to tap into this fall, just need the time!

its the same thing here , where I live is mostly forested now but 100 years ago all the trees were cut down due to logging and attempted farming . the logging lasted for a few years until all the trees were gone and farming never really worked out expect in a few pockets in this area there is still the odd farm .
its not impossible to find the old farm sites here however they are so grown in you'd rarely find anything
