Hi,
I have several bottles from shipwrecks off the Northeast USA coast. None as nice as my friends. These are from an 1886 shipwreck called the SS Oregon. The Oregon was a luxury ocean liner of it's day. It sank after a collision with an unidentified schooner in 1886.
He has a Ross S Belfast bottle that I am familiar with ( see pic). He also recovered 2 medicine bottles.
1 is 5 1/4 ' by 2' octogon shaped. It says ,
" THE BROMPTON
CONSUMPTION &
COUGH SPECIFIC
1/0SIZE"
The other is 5 3/4" by 1 7/8' . On 1 side it says CASTORIA
On the other side it appears tio say in fancy script, : Chas. H. Fletcher's
It also says 114 on the bottom. Any info on the medicine bottles would be appreciated.
My friend is retired and asked me to sell them. How do I value them? Are they more valuable because of the shipwreck? I want them myself. But I can't tell him that because he won't take any money from me.
Thanks for any help
