Hello. We are new to this hobbie, so any help would be helpful[:)] We are a digger team of 2 people. The last time we went out to dig for bottles, we found something strange!

We found these 3.25 inch glass (viles). They are full of liquid, but each is a different colour(color) liquid. we think they are handblown, the pointy ends are just twisted off, no 2 are similar. Also inside the viles is a piece of glass that slides back and forth. Also some empty ones have the flat end knocked out, almost like you use the glass inside to knock it out?

We cannot find any info on them. They do not have any markings. Any ideas of the liquid.

Cheers

They could be vials of dye. They could also be some kind of med or killed virus. Or they could be Christmas lights but I bettin on dye.

Hi Ace of spades,

Pretty sure those are colored bubble lights. I remember we had several sets of them on our Christmas Tree every year. They had a plastic base that contained the clear bulbs for the heat with air slots around the sides. They used to get very hot and caused lots of fires, that is why they stopped selling them. We still had ours in the early 50's but they could not be on unless someone was there to watch them. You had to be careful if you reached by them to get a candy cane out of the tree as they were pretty but hot.

Yea, I'd say bubble lights. We had some on our tree a few years ago. Not the old ones, we got them at Wal-mart to give our tree that "50's look." Here is a picture I found.

Good morning, thank you for the replies. We kept saying they kind of look like christmas lights. That would explain the little pile of them.

We have dicovered a one of a kind place to dig. I bought this house last year. At the time I did not realize that i was buying a house a the end of "The Undergroung Railroad." We have found the mother of all finds to dig. And we are finding more spots all the time. We have located the steamship dumps from the 1840-1930's. You cant even put a tool in the ground without breaking anything. The dump was burned before it was covered up, very easy to find the burn line. About 2 feet down you will hit water from georgian bay that is 100ft away. It is a blast to stir the water all you can hear is bottles. Once you hit the water it does the work for you. We have pulled tons out of the water in the hole. It is great they are basically clean.

Here is a picture of one of our finds. It is a bromo seltzer emerson drug co, Toronto
