Hi Trying to figure out if these cobalt mason jars are genuine or repro. Look and sound too good to be true. Lady said she had them since 1995 and got them from a friend of hers that collected antiques. No marks on the bottom and I read that the cobalts are pretty rare. I have more pics as well. Thanks

The zinc lids are genuine, but 3 cobalt masons just doesn't seem right. The colors look a bit weird, not sure if that is just the lighting.

I agree with Sharon as for the lids being genuine . I can't remember how long it go it was but there was a point in time that there were several different colors of these jars reproduced as well as the Jumbo Peanut Butter jars . I would say they are repos .

They might be real jars coated with blue stuff (I don't know Mason jars well), I've seen people who did that. If it is you could probably scrape the blue off with an exacto knife.

Even though they are fakes, may still have some good value. eBay. This one is slightly different, and apparently a scarce repro.

I won't go into my rant about fakes, painted, stained, nuked, altered, reproduction, etc. but I HATE them all and won't have one in my house even as a gift. To each his own but they detract TREMENDOUSLY from authentic collections. HATE them!
