The twist bottle started about 1923 and lasted until 1927 with the name Chero Cola. About 1927, the word cola was dropped and Chero used "Cher O" as far as I know this was used until the late 30's when these two ACLs were used. Some bottlers continued into the 50's. I am assuming that the "Formally known as Chero Cola" was the first of the two.

thanks t d ..thats pretty good info, helps me date this bottle a little bit better. as you can see, anything that is in this dump site that had acl on them didnt hold up well.the paint falls off if you set the bottle down too hard.i love knowing about any bottle i find though and your info helps..

Yeah, ACL labels, especially those early ones from the later 30s through the early 40s, are hard to find intact. Later ACL's seem to draw rust in the ground. I've found many with the rust colored stains. Burried with old cans and the like I suppose. Nice bottles btw!

Good question. I didn't know the answer to that, so I googled it. 1936.

Thanks Kate, that sums it up as simple as possible. Some of the acls from the 30's are really dull looking, almost like the glass is rubbed through. Not until later in the 40's and the 50's do the labels become really bright...
