I am a newby to the forum. I was hoping some could help me ID what type of bottle this is approx 13 to 14 inches tall, with a tooled finished lip, no marking except an embossed 1029 and vent dimples on the shoulder. I found it while digging a old cellar hole. Any help would be great it a neat looking bottle.

What a wonderful form. I can't help you at all with I.D. on contents or time frame or value but would input that it probably doesn't have a great deal of monetary value but is a nice bottle to hang onto and display as your first find if you get bitten by the Bottle Collecting bug.

Probably a modern decor piece, can't tell from the pics if the seam goes through the lip or not.Interesting shape.

Hi and welcome. I'm surprised it doesn't have the top snapped off. The thing with cellar holes is they could have been filled last week or 200 years ago. The rest of the description and picture leaves some to the imagination so it's a tough call. The bottom bulge is sort of olive oil looking.I can't really form an opinion at this point past that, sorry.

Here are some other pics of the lip, base, and seam. I am perplexed as well. The neck has some stretch marks and long stretched out bubbles

Yup, it looks like a machine made bottle with a hand tooled lip finish. If the base didn't look like it had a machine cutoff I'd swear it was a full height mold with a refired burst top and tooled lip. Most unusual!!How deep in the hole was it and what else was near it?

So Hammah 126 I think I see vertical seams in the very top section of the full bottle picture. If that is so - it is an ABM Automatic Bottle Machine product. This tall bottle would have a long parison blank mold, and that is confirmed by the picture of the bottom which shows the parison swing by the offset thick glass on one side of the heel. Pretty sure it isn't ABM. The seam extends halfway up the lip but then stops and was definitely tooled there. It's a very strange looking lip, they must have molded the bottom half of it and then tooled the top half, which I don't think I've ever seen done before.
