Coca cola bottling company

I live in Douglas Georgia and found this bottle that is an 8sided coca cola bottling company bottle with our town name embossed on the shoulder could someone explain what this bottle was used for and maybe an age

It was used for anything but Coca Cola. Having a Art Deco look to it I'd guess it dates from the 20's or 30's. LEON.
