coke bottle question

while metal detecting today I found several bottles of coca cola with Newport News, VA on them as well as a few with Alexanderia VA on them. Are these worth picking up? I dont know if there are collectors out there trying to get some from each state or anything like that. Thanks! Curt

I'm assuming those are embossed hobbleskirt bottles, probably from the 1940s-50s. There is a Coke Bottle Checklist book and those two towns are listed as common for any of the embossed Coca Cola bottle varieties. Worth picking up but only worth a buck or two at a flea market. There are lots of Coke collectors collecting bottles from every town that had a Coke bottling plant, either by state or nationally, but the common bottles have little value.
