dark amber bottle - what year?

Any info. on the date of this bottle and what is this type of top called? Thanks

Here is the base, does the dot in the base stand for something???thnx

It's an applied tapered top with ring and it seems to be an amber whiskey bottle probably from the 1870's to 1890's. Most whiskey bottles that I have found from the era have the dot on the smooth base.

It is a turn mold bottle and most likely 1870 or earlier, say 1863-4 to 1870.
