digging help

I am new to digging and I live in Missoula Montana. Does anyone out there know of any good place to dig around this area? I used to know of one in Kingston ID but I would like to stay closer to home if possible. I would appreciate all the information anyone is willing to share.

why dont you try doing what i do to find bottles. find the oldest part of town and talk the homeowner into letting you dig the privys behind the house. your town has enough history and you will find them in the back yards. i have had much better luck finding bottles this way than looking for and digging dumps.
