Hi guys, and ladies, about three weeks ago i dug a four foot privy. four footers are common in my town alot of small houses here from the 1850's threw 1900. about 1915 to 1930 they are all concrete lined and 6 to 7 foot deep. but anyway back to the story.there was 5 privy's on this place all 4 foot wood liners execpt for one.It was concrete i dug this one first.got some drugstores and some china from that one. the next three all i got was shards .3 five gallon buckets full. the next one i got lucky i found a cobalt caswell and macks ,some nice inks and meds.Ifound my first historical flask it seemed to be full all the way till the end of the neck .that was dissipointing. but i guess you cant win them all. the flask reads geo.w.robinson no 75. main st. w.va half pint.any body has dissapointing stories im happy to read and discuss.

hey that's a good Wheeling Virginai flask. I dug up a broken one 3 weeks ago. Way to go. Don't throw it away as the wheelinh virginia items are pretty tough to find. It pre-dates west Virginia as a state!

Go back and sift the dirt from that privy. The top has to be in there somewhere's. It might not be as saleable but it would still look awesome if it was fully intact. Swizzle
