Hi Folks,

This pottery piece was found recently in the Demerara River in Guyana, where pottery ink wells and late 1700's - 1800's glass bottles are found.

The impression is DR. WINN'S
BLACK & BLUE REVIVER
PREPARED BY
T.E. PRICE
Oilman (??)ent Road
LONDON

Is this a cream for removing bruises? or some other quack medicine? anyone know?

Black and Blue refer to the color of the ink and Reviver I think meant you added it to the ink to maintain the right viscosity. I have seen Dr Winn's stoneware on the uk eBay quite regularly including various 'revivers'.
