Just found an oddball ketchup or sause bottle. Fancy embosing with a script "N". The bottle has hats or acorns around the middle. Anyone seen one before? It was dug in a 1860's early 1870's layer.

Welcome, I can't say I've seen one but I wouldn't rule out some other type. How flared is that lip?
Nice bottle at any rate.

That is a nice looking sauce bottle. Never seen that design before. Acorns don't seem like they would make a tasty sauce, that's for sure . Is there anything local that would make you think of acorns? The letter N is probably the proprietors name, but who knows? You could try researching at the historical society nearby. Nice find anyway. It looks like a keeper.
