It's nice to hear some good news about this bottle, we hadn't given up on it's interest value and the guy who owns it still keeps it on his shelf but he will be delighted to know there is a little monetary value as well.
It was dug in an old river bed in Victoria B.C. along with a lot of other gold rush stuff dating from 1850 to 1880. I'll post pics of all of it some day when I get a half decent camera (the above was taken by my digging partner).

luckiest.....A friend of mine dug one of these out here in a California gold rush town...a "pear shaped" Dalys....excelent bottle....very rare....I know of another one that sold for $2000.00......a couple of years back.
