You asked me awhile back for a list of Essex bottles. My old computer was down so it took awhile to retrieve but here is a list of ESSEX COUNTY NJ Blobs & Hutches I had in my personal collection. This list does not include NEWARK but I can post it if you want it. You and others can use it for personal reference but not for publishing. Thanks.

I think I'm going to faint! [:D]

You have no idea how helpful this list is to me. A lot of these names I've never even heard. A lot of these names I've seen in 1800's directories, but I previously had no confirmation of whether or not there were bottles from there. And a lot of these names I have bottles from. The sheer number of bottles out there for me to find is staggering! Here I was thinking there were only a couple bottles from each town. Very interestingly, you pointed out Pleasantdale and Avondale, two "inhabited places" in West Orange and Nutley that I didn't even know existed! Now I know to buy bottles from there if I ever saw one.

Do you have any of these bottles, by any chance? I'd sure love to get my paws on some of them if I could... [;)]

A couple questions. These abbreviations means what?

J. W. Ransley (IBS, aqua) 8.3"
Orange Brewery (MLs, apple green, aqua, clear) 9.2-9.5" (I'm dreaming of a green one of these... Heard there's an amber one too.)
Henry J. Struck “Grocer†(al. blob, aqua) 9" (I presume this means "applied"?)

Also, rare though they are, I know of not one, but TWO more blobs from Glen Ridge! One is an A.B. Lembeck hutch, whose company was only making soda for less than a year. I am currently being stonewalled in negotiations with its owner, who dug it in Glen Ridge. The other is a regular size blob, from Petro Scola, an Italian immigrant who was fined $20 in 1907 for selling beer without a license. There's nothing I'd like more than to dig, or otherwise acquire, either of these bottles.
