This bottle is breaking records on ebay uk.

Pontilled glass torpedos from this Co are well known and not particularly rare (but still very sought after). This is the first stoneware example from the Co, and it's flown waaaaay past the highest price previously paid for a stoneware torp (there are several dozen different types of stoneware torpedo from the UK, all dating between roughly 1810 and 1850.

At 6311 Euros. Converts to about 8905 USD from us Americans [:)] How high do you Englishmen think it'll get up to?

Really an exceptional price. Recent prices for named stoneware torps range from £30 (really) to, well, in excess of £6k now. Previous record price for one was in the region of £1500.

Makes me wish I took a pottery class because something like this looks very easy to fake to be honest with you....
