don't really collect them but found 3 more today , along an abandoned road which was beside a still active railway . i was trying to find bottles but found these instead , there all clear dominion 42 . i'm assuming there pretty common , 2 of them are in great condition no chips or any damage at all . they were also still attached to the wooden piece which was in the ditch , almost wonder if it was worth more than the insulators if it was in ok condition

You're probably correct in thinking the wooden cross member and pegs were worth more than the insulators. While there are some clear examples that are worth money out there, in this game color is king...

Yup, CD 155 Dominions. Book for 1-2 dollars, not worth that. There are tens of thousands of those still on poles across Canada. They were a sturdy insulator though.

not worth anything, but the dominions look nice. I remember i found a smashed up hemingray one of those, hemingray 45 it was, and i had never seen one before so i brought it home. Since then i've probably seen thousands. cd-155's are pretty much the most modern sort of glass railroad telegraph insulator you'll find, they were made by armstrong and whitall tatum (the same company, if i remember) hemingray, dominion, and kerr (with kerr being the last company to make them ending production some time in the 1970's).
...there's also some from mexico, and i'm sure from other countries too.
