Dale, Cuddles is the baby porcupine we raised. We turned her outside in the day and put her in a carrier at night. She would come when we called her. Her favorite food was waffles. And she liked to sleep on the chair rungs and climb up my house plant to nap and knaw. She went back to the creek when fall came and we thought we may have seen her once after that. The girls painted her claws with red nail polish so she might be identified. She was a fun pet. She would run around the house and play with the girls. Nobody ever got a quill.

Ah, I rather thought that was what it was, Renee. They certainly are different to ours - hardly seem to have quills at all, or certainly not sharp ones. Our porcupines have very sharp quills right from an early age. I certainly couldn't imagine cuddling one like that ! Not without a visit to Casualty anyway ! [][:-]
