glass jar lid identification

I am interested in knowing what kind of glass jar lid I have that has embossed patent dates of Feb.12.56.dec.17.61.nov.4.62.dec.6.64.jun.9.68 on the outer ring (top) sep.1.68.sep.8.68.dec.22.68jan.69 on inner part and on underside has the number 19 embossed.

I do not have access to a camera to upload a picture of it.

I also found what I am able to identify as a Simplex jar lid Patd Oct.24 1905

Hello Sibylla, you have the glass insert to a GEM Butter 5 lb Jar. If you could find the jar itself intact you would have yourself quite a nice and valuable jar. There is a nice story related to these Gem butter jars. Smoke
