Hello Everyone,

I'm offering a golden-yellow seam-sided, half-pint flask for sale. I've owned this bottle for 37 years. It has an over-all matt-dullness to the outside and an 1/8" pot-stone with no radiations. Other than that it's perfect; no scratches, chips or dings. There doesn't appear to be any inside dullness or stain. Looking at it against a day-time sky it is very yellow. In most other light it is golden-yellow or yellow-honey color. It is loaded with whittle and has an X or + on the base. Will consider reasonable offers if no interest I'll list it on eBay.

Bob

Hi rraack,

Are you looking to sell this outright or are you doing an auction to support the forum?

"If" you are doing an auction to support the forum, I would like to start the bidding at $10.00

I wasn't sure how this members forum auction worked. I hope what follows is acceptable. Yes, I will donate 20% of the sale price to the forum upon sale of the flask if a reasonable amount is offered for it. I will post a reply when it reaches what I have determined is a fair value and will then sell it within three days of that time to whoever is the highest bidder at that time. If the flask doesn't reach its fair value, I will close the auction on December 31, then try my luck on eBay. Let the bidding begin!

Note: I will ship it for free if there is a winning bidder.

I looked at the flask again and noticed some light inside staining, in addition to the outside over-all matt surface. Held up to daylight the color of the bottle is a light yellow (less amber) than my pictures show with some golden-honey color at the thicker base and lip. My camera has an auto zoom lens , which is not working, so I unable to take any pictures presently. I am going to try to borrow a neighbors camera and post a more representative picture within a day or two.

Hi rraack, That large + on the bottom is a makers mark. These were placed in molds coming off a particular shop team of the gaffer and his crew. It identified their production responsibility and helped in the incentive pay the glass maker was entitled to.
Nice flask. I hope your approach to selling works OK. It might be better on eBay, though I don't like their set-up too much. RED Matthews
