My name is Tom Rizzo, and I live in Nesco, N.J. On and off for the last few years I have been endeavoring to find history concerning a little known glass factory that operated here in Nesco from 1845 to about 1858. It's name was New Columbia Glass Factory. I have found history here and there, the best of which is in the book New Jersey Glass Gaffers. If anyone has any information I would appreciate including it with what I've learned, and will gladly give credit for it. The glass factory was started by Jesse Richards and James M. Brookfield, and ran for approximately two years before Richards with help from Brookfield, began the Batsto Glass Works. After that, William Wescoat ran the glass works, and won two prizes for the quality of color in the window glass. I would love to learn more about Mr. Wescoat's time there, and what eventually happened to the glass factory.
