baltbottles

Met up with Phil today to try and dig a pit we had found a couple weeks ago but got tied up with other more urgent pits to dig. We the pit was an oval brickliner shared with the house next door. it was about 7 feet deep and had a couple feet of 1840s layer in the bottom. the first bottle out was a blue Baltimore star umbrella ink. then a broken Gardner and Brown torpedo, then a broken blue Cole tenpin. A broken Wm. Russell pontiled soda then finally an intact Coughlan Balto torpedo then another broken Boyd torpedo in an olive color. Then in the bottom were several early damaged snuffs. I will try to post some better pictures after we have everything cleaned up. Its been one great week for digging so far.
